PRESCHOOL AT SISOG
Based on the Swedish national curriculum, our preschool for children ages 1-4 years old, balances learning and play, indoors and outdoors, and is tailored to the needs of each child.
Theme-based activities help the children make connections within and between different topics, and throughout the day. They are encouraged to be creative, curious, cooperative and mindful.
SISOG is a safe space, full of fun and familiarity, where we aim to make learning as joyful as possible.

Swedish/French or English/French
SISOG offers a bilingual programs in both Swedish/French or English/French. Following the principle of ‘one teacher, one language,’ each group has two teachers who each speak only their native tongue, helping children to develop both languages.
Our young students acquire core linguistic and mathematical skills through a mixture of organised activities and free play designed to build their social abilities.

SISOG provides consistent and complete care for your child all day, every day. We are happy to welcome your child from 8.00 to 18.20 each day.
The preschool is open year-round, closing only for five pedagogical days per year.

Gustav Vasa (1496-1560), also known as Gustav I, was the King of Sweden from 1523 until his death in 1560. He is credited with founding modern Sweden by ending the Kalmar Union, securing Swedish independence from Denmark, and establishing a hereditary monarchy. His reign marked significant political and religious reforms, including the introduction of Lutheran Protestantism, which diminished the power of the Catholic Church in Sweden.

For our youngest children, our main focus is on providing a caring environment where they feel safe and happy, and can naturally start to develop their foundational skills.
We have a dedicated sleep-room where your little one get his or her needed rest.
Your child’s health is also very important to us and all meals are planned with focus on the nutritional value needed for the children.
Every day we also spend time outdoors. This is not only to get fresh air but to help the children develop a sense of space, improve their gross motor skills and learn about the environment around them.

In collective groups and in routine situations the children develop their linguistic and mathematical skills through:
Songs, rhymes, riddles, finger games
Reading and telling
Encouragement to speak and express themselves
Working with simple word pictures
Learning numbers and counting
Familiarization with simple notions, such as small-big, similar-different and shapes
Problem solving such as sharing and dividing
Learning concepts of time, such as before-after, yesterday-today-tomorrow

Alfred Nobel (1833-1896) was a Swedish inventor, engineer, and industrialist, best known for inventing dynamite. Born in Stockholm, he held 355 patents and amassed a significant fortune. In his will, Nobel established the Nobel Prizes, awarded annually for achievements in physics, chemistry, medicine, literature, and peace, to recognize and encourage contributions to humanity.

Like Alfred Nobel, the children in the Nobel class are encouraged to develop with consideration and respect for their community. They are encouraged to be creative in their thinking and courageous in taking meaningful risks. Creativity is the fire for the Nobel children to develop their love of learning.
In collective groups and in routine situations the children develop their linguistic and mathematical skills through:
Rhymes, recognition of the sounds of letters, clapping of syllables
Re-telling of stories
Making their own stories and texts- Recognizing letters and connecting letters with sounds.

“Svea” is a poetic and historical name for Sweden. The name evokes national identity and pride and has been used in literature, songs, and patriotic contexts to symbolize the Swedish nation and its people. Moder Svea is the female personification of Sweden and an emblem of the Swedish nation.
